Mercedes has replaced its massive-selling SLK convertible with an even better version - and you can read the full first drive in this week's magazine.

Autocar's european editor Peter Robinson has driven the new generation two-seater, which benefits from a stiffer chassis, a wider choice of powerplants and greatly improved handling and ride characteristics, anfd goes on sale in the UK this July.

'This new car's abilities to way beyond the SLK's Great All-Rounder tag,' he writes. 'It's grown up, more mature, faster, better to drive, roomier, has even better build quality and, probably, the best open-car structural rigidity.'
